International School of Service

Equipping faithful servants who equip others around the world.

It is with sadness we announce that we will not be holding our International School of Service (SOS) in 2024. It has become extremely hard for international students to get US visas to come to the training. As a result, a very small percentage of those interested have been able to attend, despite many who desired to come spending their precious time and money in the attempt.

One of the options we are considering is the creation of an on-demand video course to help you.

If you would like to be notified of updates on this one-demand video course, please send an email to Christine Wavle, EMI Director of Operations: cwavle@equippingministries.org

EMI is committed to encouraging and equipping leaders who serve and equip others in many nations . . .to help them grow in wisdom, grace, and the truth of our Lord . . . to prepare them for works of service that build up the Body of Christ.

The School of Service (SOS) is a 5-day training and coaching experience in Cincinnati, Ohio that focuses on healthy relationship and ministry skills. SOS is tailored for those who are in ministry, missions, church planting, or pastoring roles.

As a student in SOS, you will:

  • Participate in four of our core equipping courses

  • Receive a certificate of graduation upon completion

  • Receive translatable resources so you can teach the four courses you have completed

The courses are:

Please review this important information:

  • ALL CLASSES ARE IN ENGLISH ONLY.

    We do not provide translation.

  • Classes are generally limited to 12 students.

  • SOS has no registration fee. A love offering option is available to those who are able to underwrite the cost of their training and “pay it forward” to enable future SOS classes.

We offer support through training resources and prayer. We do not provide funding for graduates’ ministries.

We ask our guests not to appeal for financial support from our housing hosts or staff.

  • You are responsible to pay for and arrange your own flights to Cincinnati and back home.

We arrange housing in host homes, meals, and local transportation only during SOS dates. Airport pickup and return are arranged by EMI.

We do not provide housing outside of SOS dates. If you stay in Cincinnati beyond SOS, you must arrange your own hotel and transportation.

  • You are responsible to apply for visas and any other requirements of the United States and your country’s governing authorities.

We must report to both the US Immigration Service and their nation’s embassy those who receive visas based on EMI’s invitation but do not attend. Criminal penalties, fines, and imprisonment apply to fraudulent visa applications.

We do not offer assistance to gain immigration status in the USA.

  • We will not be holding SOS in 2024. However, we are considering creating an on-demand video course to help you. If you would like to be notified of updates on this one-demand video course, please send an email to Christine Wavle, EMI Director of Operations: cwavle@equippingministries.org
