A Glorious Celebration Sadell Bradley, Homecoming chair ...those who honor me I will honor... 1 Sam 2:30 There are a few moments in life when you find yourself at the right place, in the right time, doing the right thing. For me, the Equipping Ministries International (EMI) Homecoming 2009 was such an occasion. Chronos, the Greek word for time that refers to the literal passage of time, met Kairos, God's appointed or opportune time for a particular event to happen. Up until the weekend of October 2-4, EMI had never celebrated a Homecoming, nor had there been a ceremony to congratulate or honor the pioneers that started this ministry that has impacted hundreds of thousands across the globe. Hundreds participated in a glorious celebration of God's grace through a ministry of 'ordinary' people, founded by Dr. Gary Sweeten at College Hill Presbyterian Church over 30 years ago. What a blessing to meet, greet and commemorate the labor of love and seeds sown by our pioneers and all the Very Inspiring People who attended the weekend's events. We were amazed to see what the Lord has done over the years. We were humbled by our small beginnings. We are excited about future projects like the Trustbuilding Series due out in Fall of 2010, and a new partnership with the American Heritage Girls that will transfer EMI skills to a whole new generation. From beginning to end, a good time was had by all! We wish to thank those of you who participated in the weekend's activities: from the Awards and Fundraising Banquet, to the Mini-Workshops and Candlelight Prayer Service, culminating in a rich and healing time in worship at College Hill Presbyterian. The atmosphere was electric with joy and gratefulness at the blessings of the Lord. We are so appreciative of the support of our friends, volunteers, donors, staff and board all year round. We pray that you will continue to pass on the good news that everyone can learn to practically express God's love. You weren't able to make it? We certainly missed you! Take a look at a few photos. Navigating Relationship Dynamics When discussing a difficult or sensitive issue, people take one of two approaches. We tend to be either Mr. Nice-Guy or Ms. In-Your-Face. We have been privileged to provide life-changing training to internationals from around the world, many of them have translated EMI's training material to minister in their locality. EMI training has been available in Spanish, and we are now making the material available in Chinese.
