A Relationship Feast

Where can you find training experiences that impact every area of your life?
A deeper walk with God...transformed relationships...effective tools to powerfully minister God's truth and grace?

EMI's 3-course Relationship Series is designed to do all of that.

Listening for Heaven's Sake lays a foundation of trust. Learning the skill of empathy maximizes your ability to communicate care and understanding.  It helps to overcome barriers in communication that lead to conflict, misunderstanding, impatience, and manipulation. This essential tool positively impacts all relational and ministry contexts.

Speaking the Truth in Love continues to build the transformational skills. Too often Christians settle for false community.  How do you safely get past the surface in relationships? Learn to facilitate someone's journey into change, including how to set up appropriate goals, accountability, and confrontation.   Imagine a congregation walking genuinely and effectively together into healing.

Renewing the Mind is essential for Christians seeking a practical way to change. Romans 12:2--"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will."  Learn ways to identify what is keeping you stuck in negative feelings or behaviors by bringing God's truth in to begin a transformation process.  Experience God's freedom through a small group practice of a new skill.  It's powerful!

Wherever you are in your spiritual journey, go beyond a mere taste of what God has for you.  Why snack when the Lord has set a feast before you?  And these three courses are only the beginning! EMI has a Leadership Series and an Advanced Series of seminars available as well!

Over the next three months, you have an opportunity to dine on this Relationship -series feast. The second Saturday of each month, EMI Academy feature an appetizing seminar in a one-day format. Come and enjoy!

from Kathy Bolen, Development Officer

 Hello EMI friends!

I want to share with you some insights I have gained while making phone calls to touch base with our EMI family scattered across the USA. What stands out is that everyone thinks the “little thing” THEY are doing is no big deal.  Here are a few:

Leading a small group at church
Mentoring a pastor friend
Marriage ministry
Training mentors to “be with” folks in troubled times
Being a friend to my golf buddies
Working toward teaching degree while raising my kids
Helping people through grief, shame and abuse issues
Prayer support for someone else’s ministry
Homebound so I send out greeting cards
Ministry with Native Americans
Lead prayer group at home
Assist those entering the faith
Digging wells in Africa
Supporting EMI financially
Loving my neighbors
Listening to anyone who needs an ear
Training pastors in Cambodia
Host home for incoming pastors
Visiting the elderly
Minister to hurting people who want to grow
Caring for my elderly parents
Painting pictures as worship
Leading college student leaders
Retired from professional therapy, and now “just” loving people
Mentor to teens
Medical ministry

I hope you can see your own “little thing” being added to this list, knowing we are celebrating along with the angels in heaven, as each person does what is joyfully on our heart to make the world a little more “like Jesus.”
I was also privileged to pray with many of our friends, giving away the warmth, empathy and respect that I have received from Jesus through many of you. SO, in a very real way, YOU have been making these calls with me.  I count it a joy to pray for our supporters even while leaving a phone message.
Pray with me and for me as I continue to invite all our family and friends to the EMI Homecoming Weekend October 2-4.

Can’t wait to see you there!  You bless me! kathy :-)
