To Be Or Not To Be . . . Anxious

Dave Ping, Executive Director

Though you may genuinely want to be peaceful and to trust God for all your needs . . . let’s face it, worry is contagious!

Though Philippians 4:6 instructs us not to be anxious about anything . . . it’s awfully hard not to be. Surrounded as we are with constant news of closings, layoffs, and mind-boggling government bailouts it’s only natural to worry.

As financial securities prove just how insecure they really are, it’s easy to surrender to a diabolical assortment of nervous “what-ifs,” depressing “if-onlys,” and guilt inducing “should-haves” that suck away joy and darken our outlook on life. It doesn’t matter if you’re the most positive Pollyanna, the most optimistic optimist, or even the most stoic Saint–– none of us is naturally immune from the worries swirling around us.

No politician or government stimulus is going to relieve this anxiety.  We all need a supernatural stimulus package that only comes from spending quality time with both God and one-another.  When bad news turns your peace into fretting, you need a fresh dose of Good News!

You need truth that will set you free by renewing your mind as well as a brand new experience of God’s grace operating through your brothers and sisters in Christ.  As you join together with others in seeking the Lord and honoring Him through prayers, petitions, and thanksgiving, fear is cast out.  Instead of being dragged into the pit of despair by negative messages incessantly assaulting your spirit, perfect (Teleios) love will banish fear and replace it with peace that literally passes understanding.  That’s God’s promise; not mine!

May the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, guard your heart and your mind in Christ Jesus.

PS––If you need help focusing your spirit on God instead of fretting over things you can’t do anything about, plan on joining us for our Spiritual Stimulus Weekend on March 13-14, 2009.  This event is so important for you, your family, and your team that we’re offering the deepest discount ever (50% off!).  Don’t let the Devil get you down––make a positive move by registering for the March LIFE Seminar today!

It's In God's Hands

Acquiring a United States visa is a daunting task. Nevertheless, 25 pastors and lay ministers from Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Rwanda, Congo, Kenya, Ghana, Myanmar, Pakistan, Fiji and Sierra Leone are gathering their passports and papers and prayerfully approaching their U.S. Consulate. Their hopeful destination is EMI’s School of Service (SOS) in Cincinnati, Ohio.

In drastic contrast to the apathy of media-saturated Americans, their passion and enthusiasm for the spiritual opportunity this training promises is palpable.

The social fabric of many of their countries has been tattered by generations of poverty, neglect, and AIDS, exterminating all hope. As church leaders, they believe God will change their nations' revenge mindset and AIDS-ravaged behaviors through the relationship skills and Godly truths we teach them to teach others.

This is invaluable training they would be unable to afford, offered at no cost because of the generosity of EMI donors.

HEARING GOD

Pam Ping, Global Training Manager

God is prompting you.

He has a perspective you need.

Insight.  Wisdom.  Preparation.  Healing.

You are invited to experience God more personally.

You are invited to have impact.

Are you hearing?

In my role overseeing part of the growth journey of our team of volunteer teachers and facilitators, I've sensed the Lord saying He wants us to draw nearer to Him.

To listen, to minister Truth and Grace to one another, to be drawn into healing and the wonder of who God is in our midst.

If you have taken any of our classes, I invite you to join me in this time set aside to listen.

If you are already on our training team, please make time to be with us -- at least once a month.

We need you.

Let's see what God has in store for each of us.
